But what you might be looking for yet is a way to add the block pattern to your Block Inserter, so that you can add it to your site multiple times, without recreating it each time, or even copy and pasting it again.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Configure_a_Block_Pattern_plugin\"><\/span>1. Configure a Block Pattern plugin<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need a way for your site to save the Block Pattern as an option to use from the Block Inserter in any Post, Page, or even Site Editor. Because we want a low-code way to register that Block Pattern, we&#8217;ll install <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/coblocks\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">CoBlocks<\/a>. Create the layout for your Block Pattern<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To create a layout for your Block Pattern, go to\u00a0<strong>Appearance &gt; Block Patterns &gt; Add New<\/strong>. Note: this menu is only available if you are using CoBlocks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Block Patterns custom post type allows you to create a layout exactly as you&#8217;d like. Style your own layout, or copy a Block Pattern from the <a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/patterns\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">WordPress Pattern Directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Low-code_register_Block_Pattern\"><\/span>3. Low-code register Block Pattern<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>We&#8217;re almost there. We need to still register this layout to be used many times across our site.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select all blocks that belong together for your pattern<\/li>\n<li>Under the kebab (3 dots) menu, select <strong>Add Design Pattern<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Name your block and select a category<\/li>\n<li>Save Pattern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Register_a_Block_Pattern_with_code\"><\/span>Register a Block Pattern with code<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you are comfortable with coding options, you can register the pattern in your own custom plugin, add it to a child theme, or add it to your own theme. You can now access the pattern numerous times to create that cohesive look, no matter the content you include. When building websites for clients, be sure to direct them to use patterns you have implemented as well.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select Block Inserter<\/li>\n<li>Select Patterns<\/li>\n<li>Search, Explore, or browse for your custom Block Pattern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sharing_your_Block_Pattern\"><\/span>Sharing your Block Pattern<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Would you like to share your Block Pattern in the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/patterns\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">WordPress Patterns Directory<\/a>? Here you will want to ensure any uploaded images are available in the Block Pattern Directory, and not just on your own site.<\/p>\n<p>To copy your custom pattern over, go <strong>Options &gt; Code editor.\u00a0<\/strong>Copy your code from here.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/patterns\/new-pattern\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">New Pattern site<\/a>, place your cursor in the content, and paste.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Submitting_your_Block_Pattern_to_the_WordPress_pattern_directory\"><\/span>Submitting your Block Pattern to the WordPress pattern directory<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Finally, title your new Block Pattern and hit\u00a0<strong>Submit<\/strong> in the upper right corner. You will be presented with a series of modals to confirm your title, description, and appropriate categories for your submission.
